Don't prop the bottle!

As a mom, we get tired, frustrated, and sometimes even overwhelmed with all the things that are expected of us.  When this happens, it's tempting to just prop baby's bottle.  Even though it may seem harmless, propping baby's bottle can cause

  1. baby to choke or breath in liquid, causing pneumonia

  2. ear infections

  3. baby's teeth to decay

  4. less bonding between you and your baby

If you want to bottle-feed your baby, here's how to do it properly:

  1. hold baby in a semi-upright position all the time

  2. hold baby to give warmth and comfort

  3. take the bottle away if baby falls asleep or is done drinking

  4. try using a soother at naptime or bedtime instead of a bottle
